The Challenge
Cargills, a leading retail giant in Sri Lanka, faced a significant challenge in training its 11,000+ employees, most of whom were dispersed across the country. Traditional training methods, classroom-based learning and in-person workshops were proving inefficient and costly, especially with 70% of employees working outside the Western Province.
- Geographical Barriers: Employees in remote locations struggled to access training sessions.
- High Costs: Renting training venues, arranging travel, and scheduling trainers led to substantial expenses.
- Lack of Real-time Performance Tracking: Without digital monitoring, evaluating employees' progress was inconsistent.
- Low Engagement & Inconsistency: Training sessions varied in quality and failed to engage employees effectively.

The Digital Transformation & Its impact
To address these challenges, Cargills adopted Layup’s eLearning platform, a centralized, digital training system designed to provide accessible and engaging learning experiences for employees across all branches and (SBUs).
